St. Mark's Church, 114 Hamilton Terrace, NW
St. Mark's Church was consecrated in 1847 and was originally built for the new villa dwellers who came to live on what had been the rural edge of London.
One of the most famous of all St. Mark's incumbents was Canon Robinson Duckworth. It was on a boating expedition that Duckworth introduced Alice Liddell, the daughter of his friend Charles Liddell, to the Revd Charles Dodgson, alias Lewis Carroll, who used her as the model for his book, Alice in Wonderland.
