Featuring Jo Harris, trumpet & Alan Gout, piano

So sweet a sound you won't forget, while Sugar-Plum Fairies dance so fair, the singing of a lone trumpet, with snowmen walking in the air. Gather round this magical midwinter with sonorous sonatas and songs from Bernstein, Blake, and the greats!

Doors open at 10.00am. Concert lasts for about an hour.

About our Christmas concerts

We love this time of year, but it can be pretty hectic for us parents, right?! So to make life a bit easier, here are some top tips about our Christmas concerts.

  1. All are welcome - families members big and small, those who celebrate Christmas and those that dont.
  2. Our Christmas concerts will be a feast of music that celebrates families coming together and all things wintertime, with a sprinkling of sleigh bells and singalong carols throughout - there'll be something for everybody!
  3. Look out for the specific music and musical instruments at your chosen concert when the programmes are announced in early November.
  4. Fancy dress, frolicking and loud singing encouraged, but please note this is not a carol service, or santa's grotto and we can't guarantee the church will have a tree up yet. **sniff**

Public transport: 20 min walk, or 8 min bus ride (routes 14, 15A, 32, 42, 42A) from Chelmsford Rail Station to bus stop on New London Road, opposite Queen St. Direct bus routes from Wickford (7, 14, 15, 15A), Galleywood (42, 42A), Brentwood (140, 351) and Ongar (32)

Parking: Free parking (40 spaces) behind the church, accessed directly from New London Road. Free parking on New London Road itself, after 10.00am only. George Street Council car park off New Writtle Street (200 spaces), 4 min walk away.

Accessibility: Disabled access and nappy changing available

Centrally situated in the county town of Essex, this light and spacious church, with its Steinway grand piano and generous seating, makes the perfect concert venue.
