About our Christmas concerts

We love this time of year, but it can be pretty hectic for us parents, right?! So to make life a bit easier, here are some top tips about our Christmas concerts.

  1. All are welcome - families members big and small, those who celebrate Christmas and those that dont.
  2. Our Christmas concerts will be a feast of music that celebrates families coming together and all things wintertime, with a sprinkling of sleigh bells and singalong carols throughout - there'll be something for everybody!
  3. Look out for the specific music and musical instruments at your chosen concert when the programmes are announced in early November.
  4. Fancy dress, frolicking and loud singing encouraged, but please note this is not a carol service, or santa's grotto and we can't guarantee the church will have a tree up yet. **sniff**

About the venue

Bach to Baby Islington - Angel Venue ImageBuilt in 1875 and emulating the French gothic style of the 13th century, St James' Church now plays host to a range of exciting concerts and events - including their own Islington Proms. Despite having been recently refurbished, the church still remembers when its ground was owned by the Canons of St Paul's Cathedral! This is how many of the surrounding roads got their unusual names Bishop Street, Canon Street, St Paul Street and Rectory Street are only a few. Once you've enjoyed the concert, why not take a wander along the nearby canals and take the time to spot some of London's residential canal boats - there's plenty of cafes to sit in and watch the locks work, or just let the world go by.
